Former Dole director to discuss new book

Richard Norton Smith, the first permanent director of the Dole Institute of Politics, will return to Lawrence this month to speak about his forthcoming book.

Smith, now executive director of the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, will give a free public lecture at 7 p.m. Sept. 28 at the institute. A reception and book-signing will follow. Smith also will attend a Pizza & Politics event with Kansas University students at noon Sept. 28 in the Kansas Union.
