Remember to reset clocks, swap batteries
It’s almost time to adjust the clock and change the smoke-detector battery.
Daylight-saving time ends at 2 a.m. Sunday, which means all area residents should set their clocks back one hour, or “fall back.”
Fire officials, including those with Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical, use this day each year as a chance to remind people to change the batteries in smoke detectors in their homes.
Smoke detectors also should be tested once each month, officials say.
