¢ Heitzman Record: Paul Heitzman of Eudora set the Oklahoma age record for 74-year-olds at the Red Ribbon 5K Saturday in Tulsa. He was clocked in 22:43. A week earlier, Heitzman had broken the Oklahoma age-74 record in the 8K.

¢ Running Clinic: TherapyWorks Sports Acceleration is sponsoring a free running clinic at 9 a.m. Nov. 19. The clinic is for sprinters, distance runners and recreational athletes. For information, call Colin Baumchen at 749-1300.

¢ Free State Meeting: Parents of Free State High students involved in winter sports should attend a meeting at 6 p.m. Nov. 7 in the school’s main gym. For information, call athletic director Steve Grant at 832-6059.

¢ Orchards Winter League: Winter golf competition will begin Tuesday at the Orchards Golf Course. Membership costs $5 and greens fees are $6. There will be two chili feeds during the season and prizes each week. For information, call Ed White at 843-7456.

¢ City Runners win: Two Lawrence runners won their divisions of the Mahaffie Half Marathon on Saturday in Olathe. Liz Dobbins won the women’s 50-54 class, and Brian Daldorph won the men’s 45-49 division. Becky McClure was second in women’s 45-49, and Molly Wood was runner-up to Dobbins.
