Pearson employee rounds up award

Wanda Dickey, a senior customer service representative for Pearson Government Solutions in Lawrence, is one of six Pearson employees worldwide to win a Pearson Community Award for work outside the company.

Dickey, one of 30,000 employees of the London-based media conglomerate, was recognized for her work developing and supervising the animal therapy program at O’Connell Youth Ranch, a group home and 120-acre ranch at the southeastern edge of Lawrence for boys aged 13 to 18 who have been placed in state custody.

Mac Curtis, president and chief executive officer for Pearson Government Solutions, visited Lawrence on Monday to present the award, which came with a $500 check and another $2,000 for the ranch.
