Look at evidence

To the editor:

Arguing with a creationist is like wrestling a pig in the mud. No one wins and the pig loves it. As long as evolutionists and creationists argue, the issue remains open and this is exactly what those who support biblical creation (BC) or intelligent design (ID) want. It is the hope of the BC and ID supporters that if the argument remains open long enough, that tradition and superstition will replace scientific logic and documented investigation.

The facts are that all legitimate scientific evidence supports evolution and that there isn't any acceptable, supportable or credible evidence to support biblical creation or intelligent design. End of argument.

Name one "legitimate, scientific evidence" that supports evolution.

True science is "systemized knowledge through experimentation, observation, and study." How is evolution true science, when there have been no experiements validating evolution and there has never been any observation of evolution? At least be honest and admit that evolution is an unprovable theory! A theory is a theory, not a fact. This puts all theories about origins of life on the same playing field as far as true science is concerned.

Where has evolution been proven it is not a true science? This will require much documentation.

Why don't you just document that evolution is true science and not a theory. The documentation will take up less time and space than the other way around.

Instead of deflecting, why not comment on the following Webster Dictionary of Science- No one is trying to convert you to creationism/ID- only admit that evolution is still a theory. The important thing here is to define what science is. According to the dictionary, the definition of science is:

Science: knowledge or a system of knowledge covering general truths or the operation of general laws especially as obtained and tested through scientific method ..... the state of knowing : knowledge as distinguished from ignorance or misunderstanding.

So we see by the above definition, that true science should be defined as facts, backed up by tests using the scientific method. So, what is the scientific method? It is defined below.

Scientific Method: principles and procedures for the systematic pursuit of knowledge involving the recognition and formulation of a problem, the collection of data through observation and experiment, and the formulation and testing of hypotheses

How can you scientifically claim evolution as a FACT when the scientific method cannot be employed? Still asking, not arguing.

Bruce can you say that all evolutionary evidence points to the fossil record and the natural progression of a species? I mean you can't say that all evolutionary observations have confirmed the theory of evolution.

I predict that the next target of the Radicals will be an insistence that schools give equal time to teaching about the Median as they do for the Mean when discussing statistics. Thus, we could finally have parody, comedy, and tragedy united in a single "wedge" issue.

Anyone see or read "Hitchickers Guide to the Galaxy"? I beleive another species created us. How about equl time for us. I beleive in that THEORY just like some beleive in the THEORY an ultimate creator made us or the THEORY of Boom here we are and we adapted. "Thanks for all the fish..."
