To the editor:

I have followed, with amusement, the recent verbal jousting between proponents of four-wheel and two-wheel vehicles. While I feel strongly that many more important issues face us these days, (illegal war in Iraq, massive federal deficit, gas prices, etc.) as one who has an inordinate (some would say unwarranted) pride in my own opinions, I cannot resist entering the fray.

I have pondered this weighty issue, as I pedal around town, and have come upon my own personal bike/car philosophy. I equate riding a bicycle in Lawrence to the experience of dancing with a grizzly bear. When doing the Grizzly Bear Tango, it behooves one to ALWAYS let the grizzly bear lead.
