Sunflower Broadband boosts download speed

Sunflower Broadband’s premium high-speed Internet service now is even faster.

Lawrence-based Sunflower this week boosted download speeds for the service to 10 megabits per second from 6 megabits per second, an increase of 67 percent.

The switch – which occurred automatically and without additional charge for the company’s premium high-speed Internet customers – means that users can download photos, music and video more quickly, said Emily Mulligan, Sunflower’s marketing manager.

Customers looking to upgrade their service may contact Sunflower at (785) 841-2100 or (800) 869-1214, or click on www.sunflowerbroadband.com.

Sunflower provides digital cable television, high-speed Internet and telephone services in Lawrence, Eudora, Basehor and Tonganoxie. The company is working to add telephone service for the Piper area of Kansas City, Kan., where it already provides digital cable television and high-speed Internet service. The company’s cable operation in Linwood also is being upgraded, to include digital cable, high-speed Internet and telephone services.

Sunflower is a division of The World Company, which also owns the Journal-World.
