WHEREAS, the Preamble of the Student Senate Rules and Regulations states that "Student Senate shall work to represent students on university, local, state, national, and international levels."
THEREFORE BE IT PETITIONED, by the University of Kansas Student Senate here assembled, that the Kansas Landlord Tenant Act be amended by the Kansas State Legislature to clarify and standardize the practice of automatic renewal clauses and address the inconsistencies that arise from a lack of uniform language governing security deposits,
BE IT FURTHER PETITIONED, by the University of Kansas Student Senate here assembled, that the Student Legislative Awareness Board shall be charged with the task of drafting suitable language for amending prescribed sections of the Kansas Landlord Tenant Act, to be presented the Kansas State Legislature.
