Sign of bigotry
To the editor:
Imagine for a moment that there was a professor who was upset about the amount of political and social influence held by Jewish people. Imagine further that this professor decided to teach a class on Jewish beliefs, with the stated aim of undermining Jewish faith and giving “a nice slap in their big fat face.”
This is precisely what Paul Mirecki is doing on the campus of Kansas University, except that a different faith group is the target of his anger.
There is a word to describe such behavior: bigotry. And no matter what a person thinks about intelligent design and its worthiness of being included in science curricula, I hope we can all agree that bigotry has no place in the classroom.
