Lecompton announces appointment of fire chief
The Lecompton fire department has a new fire chief.
County commissioners on Monday were notified of the appointment of H. Wayne Riley as the new chief of the Lecompton Fire/Rescue District No. 1. Riley replaces LeRoy Boucher, who decided to leave the department after 17 years.
Riley served as assistant chief for the past five years. Riley, who is a retired law enforcement officer with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, has been with the department for 16 years.
County commissioners were notified of the change because they appoint members of the Lecompton fire district board.
