Eudora to study new pool, rec area

The city of Eudora will proceed with a study and development of a proposal for a new aquatic and recreation center.

The study will be conducted by Tom Arpin, an architect specializing in recreational facilities with BG Consultants.

The city’s current public swimming pool is in poor condition, there are code violations in the pump room and the facility doesn’t meet fire codes. It also has concrete problems in the pool decking and surfaces.

Previous proposals for a new facility have not gained the support of the community because they were considered to be too elaborate, City Administrator Cheryl Beatty said.
