To the editor:

Steve Abrams has made it abundantly clear that he does not understand the meaning of the word "science." Recent statements by Mr. Abrams, in which he accused public school teachers of using pornography in literature classes, illuminate another gap in his working vocabulary.

Mr. Abrams, assuming you know how to use a dictionary, please find one and look up the word "slander." Then, count your blessings that I am not a teacher of literature. If I were, I would also suggest you look up the word "defendant."

Interestingly put.

You would still have to show actual harm, which doesn't exist as no one takes Mr. Abrams' comments seriously.

Actually Steve Abrams does understand the meaning of the word "science" if one means an methodology of using repeated experimentation and observation to verify concepts called "theories" instead of the religion of science which claims to offer ultimate truths that are not to be questioned. Empirical science cannot provide precise explanations of where we came from regardless of claims to the contrary by the high priests of biology.
