Free State High senior Brett Lisher has earned first-team All-Sunflower League honors on both offense and defense.

Lisher, a 6-foot, 200-pound senior, was chosen at wide receiver and defensive back on the mythical team selected by league coaches.

Lisher, son of Free State coach Bob Lisher, repeated as a first-team defensive back. He had earned honorable mention at wide receiver in 2004.

Lawrence High had three first-team honorees – senior Scott Penny at linebacker, senior Brandon Lassiter at defensive back and junior Nick DeBiasse at offensive guard.

The Lions also had three second-team picks – senior running back Nolan Kellerman, senior defensive tackle Travis Alexander and Lassiter at wide receiver.

Free State’s second-team honorees were running back Brian Murphy, kick returner Ryan Murphy and defensive tackle Mikel Ruder. All three are juniors.
