Security, privacy needs focus of public forum

A public forum to discuss national and local security needs, individual privacy rights and the guarantee to freedom on information is scheduled for 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Lawrence Public Library auditorium.

The forum, “What We Know About You: Privacy, Security and Community Concerns,” will feature Bruce Flanders, director of Lawrence Public Library; Ted Frederickson, Kansas University journalism professor; Kissan Joseph, KU business professor; and Bill Staples, KU sociology professor and department chair.

Bob Beatty, Washburn University political science professor, will moderate. Participants will screen video from film and television programs. A discussion and a question-and-answer session will follow.
