Definition dead-on

To the editor:

As has already been explicated ad nauseum, intelligent design does not meet any standardized scientific definition of a theory. As for KU’s decision to teach that concept as “mythology,” I defer to the Oxford English Dictionary: “myth (noun) 1. a traditional story, esp. one concerning the early history of a people or explaining some natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural beings or events.”

That sounds dead-on to me, and perhaps explains the underlying problem for the creationists: They need to learn English before they can learn science.
