Sad ‘sport’
To the editor,
The heartbreaking photo in the news of a pit bull with wounds from fighting is saddening and discouraging. Are there really those among us who take pleasure in such a “sport”? Our species, with its supposed superior intelligence, is capable of meting out the cruelest of treatment to the canine species. These lovely animals, innocently, would want nothing more than to be our friends and companions.
If a more effective law against this is possible, let’s support it wholeheartedly!
