Lofty goal
To the editor:
I’m glad to see that there are attorneys like Ms. Woodman and Ms. Cox (“Lawrence attorneys to fight death penalty,” Journal-World, Nov. 21) out there fighting to protect the Constitution. It is easy to complain about the appeal time in death penalty cases and to want to throw out the Constitution in exchange for quick retribution.
Ms. Woodman and Ms. Cox, in the face of fierce opposition and scorn, have taken on the lofty goal of defending the Constitution for all of us by taking this case. We need more attorneys like them in this country. I wish them the best of luck in Washington, D.C.
