The Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department will administer flu shots regularly beginning at 8:30 a.m. today.

In a statement last week, the health department encouraged anyone, if they are in a high priority group or not, to get a shot as the colder weather continues to approach.

Before this week, shots were only available at certain times in Douglas County. Now, shots are available at the department at 200 Maine.

The schedule will run from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Mondays; 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays; 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays; 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursdays; and 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Fridays. Shots will be available during the lunch hour.

The health department will be closed Thursday and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday.
