To the editor:

May I add the name of Jeff Miller alongside that of Curtis Marsh (your story in the Nov. 11 issue) who plays “Taps” for military funerals and ceremonies?

Jeff Miller plays “Taps” and other military bugle calls for funerals and ceremonies performed by our honor squad. He has provided these services individually and with our honor squad for 35 years. This year he has performed an estimated 50 or more such services. It is possible that the number of these services will increase because the numbers of veterans’ deaths, especially those of World War II, are increasing. Jeff was a member of the Kansas University band from 1971 to 1975.

We are proud of Jeff Miller and our honor squad.
