Planning director to step down

Linda Finger will step down as director of the Lawrence-Douglas County Planning office effective Dec. 31, City Manager Mike Wildgen announced late this afternoon.

Wildgen accepted Finger’s resignation today.

“I have had the opportunity to consider a change so I have asked to take advantage of that opportunity,” Finger said, in a statement.

Finger has worked in the planning office for nearly 28 years. She will continue to serve as an adviser – working on the city’s development code, rural development regulations and other special projects – through June 30.
