Muslim Assn. to raise shelter funds

The Kansas University Muslim Student Assn. will raise funds for the Lawrence Open Shelter as part of a nationwide “Ramadan Fast-a-thon” on Tuesday.

On that day, non-Muslim students are encouraged to go hungry for a day. For each student who fasts, a business will donate money to the cause. The Lawrence Open Shelter and Pakistani earthquake victims will benefit from all funds raised.

At the end of the day, students can break their fast with a meal provided by the Muslim Student Assn. at Maceli’s, 1031 N.H. Amnesty International, KU-UNICEF and the International Student Assn. are co-sponsors.
