Lawrence Interdenominational Nutrition Kitchen needs volunteers for its Community Thanksgiving Dinner, which will be served Nov. 25 at First Christian Church. Volunteer drivers to deliver meals to the homebound are needed. LINK also needs volunteers to prepare food, serve and clean up. ¢ The Roger Hill Volunteer Center has published its annual How to Help at the Holidays brochure. The brochure provides information on how volunteers may assist in different charitable organizations during the holiday season, adopt-a-family and adopt-a-child holiday programs, and how to volunteer or contribute to free holiday community meals. The brochure is available by calling the Roger Hill Volunteer Center, 865-5030, or by e-mailing the Volunteer Center at info@rhvc.org. ¢ ICAN Friendly Visitors program is looking for individuals to volunteer one or two hours each week to assist older people who live independently. Volunteers are needed to assist with grocery shopping, make friendly visits and phone calls, assist with errands or household needs. ¢ Lawrence Habitat ReStore is looking for volunteers with any of the following experience categories: hardware, construction, remodeling, retail, cashiering, customer service, janitorial or heavy lifting. Volunteers will assist with the general operation of a building-supply thrift store in order to generate revenue for Lawrence Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit organization that builds homes in partnership with families in need. ¢ The Lawrence Public Schools and the Boys and Girls Club seek volunteers to work with youth ages 6 to 12 in after-school programs at several sites throughout Lawrence. Available volunteer opportunities include one-on-one tutoring or working with small groups on specific tasks and projects. Volunteers are needed after school hours from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, and from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesdays.
