Poor service
To the editor:
I have noticed several times that people have to stand and wait at our main post office, but yesterday, Nov. 1, was the worst. There was a long line of people, clerks at two windows and one where you pick up mail.
I waited for 15 minutes, from 2:45 to 3 p.m. When I complained to the clerk, she heard me out and pointed me to the “Let’s hear from you” poster. It says: “Give us the opportunity to serve you better by: Speaking to our Postmaster/Management Staff, Calling 1-800-275-8777. Visiting www.usps.com.”
Except for the first one – which I did by speaking to the clerk – there is no possibility of filing a complaint.
The post office should have clerks at all the windows when there is a long line of people – or at least chairs for older folk.
