KU Hillel to celebrate Shabbat today
KU Hillel will celebrate Shabbat, the Jewish day of rest, this evening in the ballroom of the Kansas Union with Shabbat 350.
Services will begin at 6 p.m. in Woodruff Auditorium of the Kansas Union. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. in the ballroom with a slide show, raffle and a live performance by Hillel’s a cappella group, said Jay Lewis, executive director for KU Hillel.
The event is free for students. Adults are encouraged to make a donation, Lewis said.
“Shabbat is a time for prayer, reflection, rejuvenation and, most importantly here at KU, a time for community,” Lewis said.
