Injury Accidents

¢ A Lawrence man and a Eudora man were flown to University of Kansas Hospital in Kansas City, Kan., Thursday morning after the Lawrence man’s car veered across the center lane and struck the oncoming vehicle head on. Willie R. Steel, 43, was driving north on U.S. Highway 59 south of Oskaloosa at 5:35 a.m. when his car veered into the southbound lane for unknown reasons, according to a highway patrol report. Neither Steel nor the driver of the other car, Dennis Garrison, 24, Eudora, were wearing seat belts. Condition updates were not available for the two men.
