Traffic rules

To the editor:

Roundabouts are not such a bad idea. After all, they do keep the traffic moving at a steady pace – providing drivers understand the rules to the roundabout. Far too many drivers assume they can proceed at any time because there is no light telling them to be cautious or to stop. So my suggestion is that the rules be posted in the Journal-World and on a sign at the roundabout that may read: When a car is in the roundabout, wait until they are about to exit and then enter the roundabout, then proceed in an alternating fashion. Also, drivers need to be reminded that when two cars arrive at an intersection at the same time (without lights, including roundabouts) that the driver on the right has the right of way.
