LAHS thanks

To the editor:

I am a student at the Lawrence Alternative High School and graduated with my Lawrence High School senior class this year. Being one of the last students who will have the opportunity to pass through this school, I would like to recognize the people who made this school such an amazing place to learn and grow. I transferred to this school halfway though my junior year at LHS. I was not on track to graduate and thought at that point that I would not be able to do so on time,

The teachers and students at this school all did an amazing job at making me feel welcome and getting me back on an academic track. Before long, I was set to graduate on time and my grade point average had risen almost two points. These teachers helped me to do all of it. I don’t know where I would be academically if it was not for the staff at this school.

In closing, my main purpose in writing is to express a very big thank you to all of my teachers and to any other teacher, business, organization, or any person who has ever assisted LAHS in making it the best school it could possibly be. These teachers care about their students more than anything else in the world, and for that I am forever in debt. No words I can write can describe the amazing things the teachers and students do at this school every day. My one hope is that everyone remembers this school and its staff for the great things it did for so many students’ educations and self-esteem.

Peter Leach,
