Pet peeves

To the editor:

There are some things that really, really bother me:

1. SUVs with one passenger, a truly un-American vehicle which helps keep us dependent upon foreign oil.

2. One-issue voters; Adolf Hitler was after all an anti-abortionist, would you vote for him?

3. Politicians who appeal to religious conservatives who are anything but religious in their personal lives.

4. Politicians; in general, I always feel like I need a bath after meeting one.

5. People who quote or want to change the Constitution but never read the original.

6. People who want to remove “the theory of evolution” from the school curriculum because it’s just a theory, but don’t understand what a “scientific theory” is.

7. Voters who only vote straight party lines without knowing who they are voting for.

8. Voters who vote for one particular party because they have always voted for just one particular party and don’t seem to understand that the particular party has changed.

9. People who want to change the Constitution to reflect their religious beliefs even if the change restricts or removes the rights of another.

10. Drivers who drive with their fog-lights on when there isn’t any fog, but if they don’t know that there isn’t any fog then they must be too stupid to know how to turn them off.

These are just a few of the things that really bug me. Oh my God, I think I just described the average Kansas voter.
