To the editor:

Almost every day letters to the editor deplore the intrusion of conservative Christian values into our affairs (political, social, financial, educational, medical, domestic). Those who are fed up with the state’s position on evolution, abortion, gay marriage (to name a few) should ask themselves this: Where was I when we were having elections?

As has been pointed out by a previous writer to this page, when only 35 percent of the eligible voters vote, 18 percent of those same voters produces a majority. Anyone who sees a problem in the direction the state of Kansas is headed doesn’t have to look very far for the solution.

Here’s a hint: Vote in the primaries.
