Operation Wildlife seeking volunteers

Operation Wildlife provides rehabilitation services to injured or orphaned wild animals, as well as wildlife education programs, and is seeking new wildlife caretaker volunteers for their main facility in Linwood, north of Eudora. New volunteer orientations will take place May 18 and June 11, but interested persons must first complete an online volunteer application. Application forms can be accessed at www.owl-online.org. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
Immediate volunteer needs
- Volunteer counselors at Headquarters Counseling Center are available to talk to children and adults about any concern 24 hours a day. Headquarters needs additional volunteers and is offering an informational session from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The meeting will take place in the Gallery Room of the Lawrence Public Library, 707 Vt. Registration is not required. For more information, call Headquarters, 841-2345.
- The Lawrence Arts Center is now recruiting volunteers to assist with its summer youth art education classes. Opportunities to share art skills, including ceramics, painting, photography and more, occur Monday through Thursday, mornings or afternoons, for approximately three hours. - The 37th Annual March of Dimes WalkAmerica fund-raising event will be at 6 p.m. Saturday at Clinton State Park. The organization needs volunteers to help on the day of the event.
