Lawrence commuter report

The following construction projects may affect commuter traffic in the region this week:

U.S Highway 40 from Kansas Highway 4 to east of Kansas Highway 10, traffic controlled by pilot car for overlay.

Interstate 70, from the East Topeka to Lecompton exits, widening project under way.

Kansas Highway 32 at Stranger Creek, bridge reduced to one lane for widening.

Kansas Highway 92 bridge over the Missouri River, traffic reduced to one lane on weekends for repair.

Interstate 435 from the Kansas-Missouri state line to 98th Street, lane closures for construction.

Interstate 635 at Parallel Parkway, all ramps closed for construction. Use exits at U.S. Highway 24 or 38th Street.

Southbound I-635 at Swartz Road, ramp closed.

Interstate 35 at Southwest Boulevard, traffic restricted to two lanes each direction for construction.

I-35 at 87th Street and U.S. Highway 69 southbound from I-35 to 91st Street, lane-width restrictions and ramp closures for construction. Detours posted.

The following projects may affect city traffic this week:

U.S. Highway 40 (Sixth Street) from Kansas Highway 10 to Folks Road, traffic carried through construction as U.S. 40 is widened to four lanes. Traffic between Wakarusa Drive and Folks Road reduced to one lane each direction.

West Sixth Street from Folks Road to Wakarusa Drive, traffic reduced to one lane each direction for road-widening project

Harvard Road from Monterey Way to Wakarusa Drive, closed to through traffic for traffic calming improvements to begin Monday.

Westbound Bob Billings Parkway at Lawrence Avenue, westbound reduction to one lane during workday for storm water project.

Sixth Street from Tennessee to Massachusetts streets, lane closures as needed during workday for waterline installation.

Seventh Street from Vermont to Tennessee streets, closed to through traffic for improvements. 700 block of Kentucky Street reduced to one lane, and mail drop relocated to east side of the post office.

Vermont, Massachusetts and New Hampshire streets, portions closed Friday for National Collegiate Cycling Championships.

Fourteenth Street at Jayhawk Boulevard, closed for tunnel installation.

Fifteenth Street from Haskell Avenue to Connecticut Street, closed to through traffic for storm water project.
