To the editor:

Are you a degree/diploma holder from a school or university/college located in Kansas? Congratulations! The state Legislature has now devalued that paper by something approaching 15 percent. And, this trend will continue. Every time the “true Christian” lawmakers (remember YOU elected them) try to impose some version of their beliefs/prejudices/phobias on the people of this state, whether successful or not, it is reported in the national media. This creates an image in the minds of prospective employers. You may be assured that this image is NOT positive. Your Legislature has just devalued your credentials another notch (BAM!).

Of course, if this doesn’t bother you, you might read Leonard Pitts Jr.’s column in the May 3 Journal-World. Be reminded of the concentration camp survivor who said he didn’t protest when the Nazis came for the journalists, the dissidents, the trade unionists, the Jews, the Communists, the Catholics, the homosexuals or the gypsies. After all, he wasn’t a member of any of those groups. And when the Nazis came for him? There was no one left to protest.

If you cannot see where this is leading, i.e., to a theocracy that will put the Taliban in the shadows for the repression/oppression they will wreak upon us, you probably already voted yourself and your children out of the house and into the camps.

Remember the ninth beatitude: Blessed are the liberals, for they provide the common enemy.
