Traffic snarls

To the editor:

I have no problem preserving the Wetlands. However, if you happen to have the unfortunate luck of working on the east side of Lawrence and living west of Lawrence, as I do, you have two choices to get home: 23rd Street or 31st Street.

A nightmare is how I would describe 23rd Street. I have been stuck in traffic on 31st from Haskell Avenue to the stop sign at Louisiana for at least 15-20 minutes. If they will not create the bypass elsewhere, it would only make sense to install traffic lights at 31st and Louisiana to keep traffic flowing at rush hour. But the people that oppose the bypass, or don’t care, obviously don’t have to use 31st Street to get home.

There’s also a song by AC/DC: “I’m on a highway to hell.”
