Biblical backing

To the editor:

I am writing in response to Harold Washington’s statement in the March 28 Journal-World in the article on the Knights of Columbus donations supporting the amendment against gay marriages.

Mr. Washington said and I quote, “There is nothing in the Christian scriptures that would speak against the kind of mutual loving relationship of two of the same gender.” Is he referring to the love two friends of the same gender have for each other not including sex? If so, yes, we are all to love one another. But if he is referring to a same-sex love relationship including sexual acts, I am wondering what Christian scriptures he is referring to. Here are some scriptures from the Holy Bible that speak against same sex sexual relationships: Romans 1:1-32; Jude 1:7; First Thessalonians 4:3; First Timothy 1:9-10;

From Old Testament: Read the books of Genesis and Leviticus. It is definitely there.
