To the editor:

Those congregations (Journal-World, March 26) who oppose the proposed constitutional amendment also oppose God and his plan for marriage. Genesis 2:24 says: “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh” (English Standard Version). Worse yet, they mock Messiah’s passion, who “was wounded for our transgressions and he was crushed for our iniquities” (Isaiah 53:5), when they condone the sin of a marriage between a man and a man or a woman and a woman, and say it is within the bounds of God’s love.

No sin is within the bounds of our holy God’s love. He has only a love for the sinner whose sin is cleansed by Messiah’s blood. They are blind leaders leading the blind because they put their truth ahead of God’s and they lead themselves and the ones they lead, who don’t know the truth or chose to ignore the truth, into a life that will only lead to spiritual (and possibly physical) death.
