Schools’ loss

To the editor:

This letter is to honor two wonderful educators and friends, Ted and Judy Juneau. In this world today, just getting children’s attention to attempt to educate them is a feat. Ted and Judy not only have their attention but have managed very successfully to see the good in their students. Instead of focusing on children’s problems, they both have encouraged students to see their strengths and to build on them.

I have personally witnessed the caring Ted Juneau has shown to his students. He daily walks the halls, circulates in the lunchroom and is outside at dismissal talking with students. He is very much in touch with their needs and is well loved not only by students but also by their parents. We want to thank you, Ted, for caring enough and helping our son to succeed.

We also want to thank Judy for the love and kindness shown to her students at the Alternative High School. Without her and her staff, many would not have rediscovered their self-worth and graduated. Lawrence is a better place because of you. We wish you the best wherever your lives may lead you next.

Bob and Celeste Trepinski,

Lawrence
