Christian view

To the editor:

The sign board at that church read: “VOTE YES, April 5, 1 Man 1 Woman.”

Is this a violation of separation of church and state? A violation of churches’ tax-exempt status by promoting one side of a political issue?

I am a Christian, and I believe I must vote against placing discrimination into our state constitution, whether those persons be women, native Americans, blacks or gays. Marriage is already defined in state law as being between one man and one woman. The rest of the amendment identifies and discriminates against one segment of the population. Therefore, I will and urge others to vote “NO” on April 5.
