Bond choice

To the editor:

I support education. I believe schools need the money. However, I just can’t bring myself to vote for this school bond issue, given present management. These folks have voted to close viable functioning neighborhood schools on good sites. All but one voted to remove passing biology as a high school graduation requirement. (Too many students couldn’t read well enough to pass the course, so they redefined success so the students could graduate). So, as much as I believe improvement is needed, I can’t bring myself to believe that they will make any sensible decisions in spending the money.

I assume DLR Group still gets a fixed cut based on how much it can convince us to spend.

None of the candidates has addressed these issues. Unfortunately, I cannot vote for “none of the above.”
