Balanced view?

To the editor:

As a reader and subscriber to the Journal-World, I find the newspaper to be organized and factual.

The opinion section is one of my favorite sections of the newspaper. I find the Public Forum to be particularly informative. The syndicated col-umns are another story! While most are OK, some seem to be too lengthy and overly biased.

Cal Thomas’ columns are no exception. His articles often personify conservative thinking at its worst. For example, Mr. Thomas’ implication that the Middle East would be better off with “new thinking” religionwise demonstrates his shallow thinking and biases toward Islam.

Speaking of insight, or lack of it, Mr. Thomas even believes that U.S. teens will obediently practice abstinence if adults tell them to do so.
