Cloudy today, chance of snow flurries tonight

Winter’s not quite over yet — there was a 17-degree wind chill this morning. And there’s a slight chance for snow flurries overnight, says Jennifer Schack, 6News meteorologist.

However, there will be some milder weather today, as the temperature reaches a high of 51 this afternoon, with westerly winds 5-12 mph, Schack said. The average high is 54 for this date.

“It has been a cold start,” Schack said. At 8 a.m., the temperature was 25, with a northwest 7-mph wind making the wind chill 17 degrees.

Skies were mostly sunny this morning, but clouds will come rolling in this afternoon from the north and west, bringing in the chance for precipitation, she said. The greatest chance for precipitation comes after 7 p.m., she said.

“Maybe a few sprinkles and isolated showers are possible. I think we have a little bit better chance for flurries tomorrow morning,” she said.

Overnight, the low will drop to 27, with westerly winds 5-10 mph and a high of 45 under partly cloudy skies.

Thursday’s morning low will be 31, with the high reaching 56 on Thursday afternoon.
