Not-So-Free State?
To the editor:
If the constitution of our proud Free State is amended to deny all Kansas citizens their right to life, liberty and their pursuit of happiness/civil unions, then I propose that we change the name of our local high school to the Not-So-Free State High. However, if our community stands behind our city code and votes in favor of compassion, tolerance and equality for all, then we can simply change the high school’s name to Free City High until such time that the state constitution is re-amended to resemble the constitution of a Free State.
