Apology due

To the editor:

I am appalled that the Journal-World ever, at any time, felt there could be justification for sketching one of the Miller children during the murder trial of their father.

What on earth could have been your purpose in even initiating such a thoughtless, pointless cruel exercise? Could you not have anticipated how a child might have felt to know someone was staring at them and drawing their image?

Are none of you parents? Do you not have any compassion at all for children who have lost their mother and are now being subjected to the horrors of this trial? Are you without a shred of decency?

Your stated justification seems to be “well, we were doing it just because we could” – a rather holier-than-thou, don’t-tell-us-what-to-do attitude.

Well, here’s a news bulletin for you: We don’t like what you did and we think you should be ashamed for doing it. Stop it and don’t ever do it again.

And you might consider apologizing. It’s what people do when they are wrong.
