To the editor:

On June 2 you published an article, “White House counsel’s ouster sought” by Dave Ranney. In that article you did a serious disservice to a fine public servant and son of Lawrence, Scott Bloch. We have known Scott and his family for 20 years, first as client and then as friend. Scott is a graduate of the Kansas University School of Law and a lawyer of great ability and integrity.

Scott would never fail to discharge his public duties because of politics. Scott is a fair individual who has spent his life dedicated to the pursuit of justice and care of his family. Scott is a great American and someone Lawrence can be proud of.

Anyone who really knows Scott would see through your hatchet job. This is a low blow for the Lawrence Journal-World.
