Free State High’s Matt Green signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Barton County Community College this week. The 6-foot Green helped the Firebirds to a 19-4 record and appearance in the Class 6A state tournament this year. Barton County, which traditionally has a strong basketball program, recently hired a new coach after finishing 13-17 in 2004-05.
