Cafe comment
To the editor:
Too many outdoor cafes in downtown Lawrence? Not enough sidewalk room? Heaven forbid we might start to resemble those messy European cities like Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, Copenhagen or Florence. Much better to let people spend thousands of dollars to fly to Europe each summer and be crammed onto those narrow sidewalks with their pesky outdoor cafes. We should strive to be tidier – like those paragons of urbanity in Johnson County. Not.
