FSHS grad Morningstar picks N.H. prep school

Former Free State High boys basketball player Brady Morningstar has decided to attend New Hampton School in New Hampton, N.H., for a year before accepting a major-college scholarship.

The prep school has turned out many major-college prospects, including North Carolina’s Rashad McCants and Wake Forest’s Darius Songaila.

“There are a lot of similarities in the way they play and the way they do the weight training as to what Brady has already been doing,” said Morningstar’s dad, Roger. “He’ll be playing 30 games against the best prep schools on the East Coast. It will help his physical maturity and do a lot getting him ready to go to college.”

The 6-foot-3, 166-pound Morningstar averaged 19 points and five rebounds per game last season and was named Sunflower League player of the year.
