To the editor:

Thanks to all the people who attended the May 15 meeting at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital auditorium concerning Memorial Park Cemetery. Also, thanks to the ones that could not be there but came by my home and signed with their complaints.

Thanks to the city manager and Commissioners Mike Amyx and David Schauner for being present and to the secretary of state and attorney general’s office for being represented.

And thanks to the newspaper, Channel 6 and the radio station for their help in letting people know about the meeting.

A big thanks to all the workers who put in long hours to get it ready for Memorial Day. It is beautiful. The best it has looked for many years.

We all are happy and can live in peace, knowing our loved ones are being cared for in their final resting place.

We are proud of Lawrence, a city that cares.
