Lawrence commuter report

The following construction projects may affect commuter traffic in the region this week:

U.S Highway 40 from Kansas Highway 4 to east of Kansas Highway 10, traffic controlled by pilot car for overlay.

Interstate 70, from the East Topeka to Lecompton exits, widening project under way.

Kansas Highway 32 at Stranger Creek, bridge reduced to one lane for widening with traffic controlled through signals.

Kansas Highway 92 bridge over the Missouri River, traffic reduced to one lane on weekends for repair.

Interstate 435 from the Kansas-Missouri state line to 98th Street, lane closures for construction.

Interstate 635 closed between Kansas Highway 5 to the Missouri state line. Traffic detoured using Sunshine Road and Highway 69.

Lane closures at 78th Street and Interstate 70 in Wyandotte County while pavement is rebuilt.

Interstate 35 at Southwest Boulevard, traffic restricted to two lanes each direction for construction.

Southbound Interstate 635 at Swartz Road, ramp closed.

Interstate 635 at Parallel Parkway, all ramps closed for construction. Use exits at U.S. Highway 24 or 38th Street.

Interstate 35 at 87th Street, ramps closed for construction. Use 75th and 95th Streets to Quivira.

Interstate 35 between Gardner and 75th Street for night repavement; expect delays.

Midland Railway crossing is being resurfaced on U.S. 59 north of Ottawa.

The following projects may affect city traffic this week:

Clinton Parkway and Lake Pointe Drive will close to through traffic from Wakarusa Drive to east of Kansas Highway 10 entrance and exit ramps.

U.S. Highway 40 (Sixth Street) from Kansas Highway 10 to Folks Road, traffic carried through construction as U.S. 40 is widened to four lanes. Traffic between Wakarusa Drive and Folks Road reduced to one lane each direction.

West Sixth Street from Folks Road to Wakarusa Drive, traffic reduced to one lane each direction for road-widening project.

Harvard Road from Monterey Way to Wakarusa Drive and the Eldridge and Goldfield streets intersection, closed to through traffic for traffic calming improvements.

Westbound Bob Billings Parkway at Lawrence Avenue, westbound reduction to one lane during workday for storm water project.

Sixth Street from Missouri to Tennessee streets, eastbound traffic reduced to one lane for KLINK overlay program.

Sixth Street from Tennessee to Massachusetts streets, lane closures as needed during workday for waterline installation.

Seventh Street from Vermont to Tennessee streets, closed to through traffic for improvements. 700 block of Kentucky Street reduced to one lane, and mail drop relocated to east side of the post office.

New Hampshire Street, from Seventh to Ninth streets, traffic will be disrupted by parking lot repairs.

Seventh Street from Massachusetts to New Hampshire streets will be undergoing waterline repairs.

Irving Hill Drive, closed to through traffic between Constant Avenue and Engel Road for KDOT bridge repairs.

Fourteenth Street at Jayhawk Boulevard, closed for tunnel installation.

Fifteenth Street from Haskell Avenue to Connecticut Street, closed to through traffic for storm water project.

Thirty-Third Street from Iowa Street east, one lane each direction and removal of center turn lane for street improvements.

In addition, the following areas will be undergoing resurfacing this week: Kasold Drive, south of Sixth Street to Bob Billings Parkway, Straford Road and Crestline Drive to University Drive, and Waterford and Hartford avenues, West 23rd Terrace to Atchison Street, 18th and Tennessee streets to Louisiana Street, Barker from 19th to 23rd streets, Maple to Harper streets, 11th and Tennessee streets to Louisiana Street, Elm from 2nd to 4th streets, Clifton Court from 19th Terrace to 21st Street, Avalon Road from Ninth Street to Cambridge Road and Haskel Avenue from 12th to 15th streets. Parking will be removed for resurfacing.
