To the editor:

To the firemen and police officers who volunteered their time at the fourth annual Morning Star Church Neighborhood Bike Parade, thank you for giving your time and energy to the July Fourth Bike Parade in the Quail Run neighborhood. You went above and beyond what we expected. The kids loved the junior police badges and spraying the fire hoses made their day! Your patience with the kids and your willingness to give extra time helped to make it a fun event for everyone. Your presence at the parade was definitely the highlight!

Furthermore, thank you for all that you do for the community. The long hours you work make Lawrence a safer place to live. Your efforts do not go unnoticed.
