Whose image?

To the editor:

The recent letter from David Omar belabored America’s tarnished world image because of our disrespect of the Muslim religion. I thought about my perceptions of why perhaps some of us feel as he described:

¢ My minister never brought an AK-47 to my church and told me to go kill people. Worse yet that he would help me.

¢ Calling me an Infidel is an insult. But I won’t search you out and kill you for it.

¢ Desecrating my Bible is an insult. But I won’t search you out and kill you for it.

¢ If one questions Muslim faith systems they receive a state-authorized contract for their murder. They will search you out and kill you for it.

¢ In my hometown if someone beheaded someone, we would consider them sick, demented, murderous, deranged, crazy, insane, mad, disturbed and wacko – regardless of their religion.

Leaders of Middle Eastern countries have squandered trillions of dollars in oil revenues for palaces, fleets of luxury cars, private jets and yet kept their people living in abject poverty. Their education systems teach hate toward us while the other hand continues to take our money. My question is, when will this stop?
